New Delhi. Microsoft will soon ending support for its older Windows systems. Those still using Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 will no longer receive security updates and technical support from next week. The company has said that computers running on Windows OS will not get the update after January 10. Here’s everything you need to know about it and how you can upgrade to a newer software version.

Furthermore, Google will also be discontinuing Chrome support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 on February 7, which is only a few weeks away.

How to upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11?
The upgrade to the new version is free for now and doesn’t require much for people to be using the latest Windows version. When a Windows 10 update is ready for your device, it will be available to download from the Windows Update page in Settings. You will then need to restart your device and complete the installation. After that, your device will be running Windows 10. People can also check whether their PC is already running the Windows 10 2022 Update or not by simply selecting View update history on the Windows Update settings page.
As for Windows 11, not everyone can access it as it does not support a lot of older PCs. There are minimum system requirements to install Windows 11 on PC. Therefore, if your computer does not meet these requirements, you will not be able to install Windows 11 on your device. The only other option for you would be to buy a new PC, which should be compatible with Windows 11.
